Better AIR JORDAN 5: "BLACK METALLIC" or "BIN 23". Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 5 originally released in 1990 with four colorways during its initial release. Inspired by World War II Mustang fighter jets, these shoes feature a 3M reflective tongue, mesh mesh on the tongue and side panels, and unique lace locks. Last seen in 2016, the Air Jordan 5 "Black Metallic" returns as a remake of the OG colorway that released in 1990. It faithfully reproduces the original design, including a 3M reflective tongue and "Nike Air" logo on the heel. Released in 2011 as part of Jordan Brand's Bin 23 program, the Air Jordan 5 Premio "Bin 23" is limited to 2,133 pair. Former Cincinnati Bearcat and Air Jordan collector Alex Meacham was the one who helped design the shoe in honor of the white laces that Michael Jordan wore on the original "Black Metal" Air Jordan 5s. One of the key details includes the collection's signature wax seal embossed on the heel.
