"MILITARY BLUE" and "MOTORSPORTS". Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 4 in 1989, the legendary Nike designer's second Air Jordan shoe. Today, we're taking a look back at the "Military Blue" and "Motorsport" colorways. The Air Jordan 4 "Military Blue" was one of four original colorways that debuted in 1989 and was last released in August 2012. It's crafted from a white leather base with contrasting military blue and natural gray details. Unlike the original, this 2012 return features Jumpman branding on the heel instead of the Nike Air on the heel.
Released in 2017, the Air Jordan 4 "Motorsports" is modeled after an extremely limited pair given to 16 members of Michael Jordan's motorcycle racing team in 2006. Unlike its predecessor, this pair does not include the Mars Blackmon graphic on the lateral heel.
