Since launching the Air Jordan 1 in 2018, Union LA has dropped a slew of collaborations: multiple iterations of the Replica Nike Air Jordan 4, a duo of the Air Jordan 2, and even a few styles outside of the Air Jordan core collection. For their latest project, Chris Gibbs and the team are moving beyond Jumpman to set their sights on the iconic Cortez.
Here, Union LA x Replica Nike Cortez wears "Sesame," which the store calls "Un-Cortez," reimagining the shoe as "an expression of Los Angeles' cultural diversity." Although a nod to the logo itself, this version's silhouette subtly incorporates new elements: a woven fabric paired with a bottom, a backlit rubber toe cap and rearranged suede overlays. What's more, Crater Foam created the midsole, cork for the insole, and Union LA branding on the forefoot and heel.
